Alchemy No.1 is the heart of La Evarose — a once-a-year, triple distilled hydrosol crafted from our heritage Bourbon rose, Madame Isaac Pereire.

This is not a standard rosewater. It is a slow, three-stage distillation in copper, made only when our established Pereire bush is in full, generous bloom. Each bottle holds the depth of the season, the strength of the rose, and the quiet work of our hands.

The Rose — Madame Isaac Pereire

Madame Isaac Pereire is one of the most richly scented roses in the world — a deep, old-world Bourbon rose with dark berry, velvet wine, and dusk-rose notes.

Our bush has been grown slowly, allowed to root deeply and bloom in her own time. Only a portion of her flowers are harvested each year so that she remains strong, balanced, and long-lived.

Triple Distillation

Alchemy No.1 is distilled in three stages:

1. Fresh blooms are distilled in pure water to create the first hydrosol.
2. New petals are added and distilled again, using that hydrosol instead of water.
3. A final round of petals and hydrosol completes the third distillation.

This process concentrates the rose’s aromatic and water-soluble compounds into a hydrosol that is richer, deeper, and more complex than a single distill. It is an intensive, time-heavy method and can only be done in very small batches.

Scent and Skin Feel

Aroma: deep rose, dark berries, warm dusk florals, vintage perfume softness.

On the skin: cooling, comforting, softly hydrating. It feels like a gentle veil of rose on the face — neither sticky nor heavy, just a quiet presence that lingers.

Best suited for skin that is:

– normal to dry
– mature or easily depleted
– in need of emotional comfort and ritual care

How to Use

Use as a facial mist, before oils or balms, or as a standalone ritual.

Suggested uses:

– Mist onto freshly cleansed skin before applying face oil.
– Press gently into the face, neck, and décolletage with clean hands.
– Use as a midday reset — a moment to pause, breathe, and soften.
– Mist over the heart or wrists during times of emotional heaviness.

A few slow breaths after each spritz will help you feel the full effect of the rose.

Batch and Bottling

Alchemy No.1 is crafted in very limited quantities each year. Each run is distilled, filtered, and bottled by hand in our atelier.

Ingredients

Ingredients: 100% triple distilled rose hydrosol (Madame Isaac Pereire).

No essential oils. No added fragrance. No alcohol. No preservatives.

Care and Storage

Store your bottle in a cool, dark place, away from direct sunlight and heat. For longest freshness, you may keep it in the refrigerator.

Best used within 6–12 months of opening. As with all artisanal hydrosols, slight variations between batches are natural and part of the craft.

A Note from the Garden

Alchemy No.1 exists because one mature rosebush, in one small garden, is ready to give us her flowers for a single season. Each bottle is a moment in time — a record of that year’s weather, care, and bloom.

When you hold this hydrosol, you hold a piece of the garden at its most generous.
